Drop Spot, Spot to Drop

Today is a super quick tip & it can change your life! Seriously, I don’t say this lightly, it has literally changed my life and saved me a ton of time! Here it is:

HAVE A DROP SPOT!!!

Have a spot, or two, in your home where you place things that need to go elsewhere. For me those spots are the at the entrance to my office and my kitchen. These are central part of my house, and where I spend 90% of my time. I found that with limited mobility these past several years this to be essential, but now that I am mostly back on my feet, it is saving me time and headache! Yes we all should get our steps in BUT that takes time and energy away from what you are doing.

Now you are going well that’s great how does this relate to my craft space, and here it is, have a small bin or places to put the leftovers and items you aren’t using anymore, for before they get put away. It’s great if you can put them away right away, that is ideal! But we are often doing projects or orders and just don’t want to take the time, or can’t. Having a designated spot or bin that gets put away once a day or once a week will save you a ton of headache.

Each time you have something that doesn’t belong where you currently are, your office, bedroom, car, whatever and you take the time to go put it away, you are not only taking that time but the mental energy away from what you should be doing! If this will bug you and distract, then go do it, but overall, having a designated SPOT where things go to be put away allows you to keep your room, house or car cleaned up and you know what needs to be put away to clean up.
